Battling Compassion Fatigue & Creating a Culture of Fun!

 Have you ever heard the term "Compassion Fatigue?"  What about "Burnout?" Do you know the difference between the two and what to do about it?  Part one of this interactive two part talk will not only help define and highlight warning signs of compassion fatigue and burnout in veterinary hospitals, but give participants practical ways to assess and address them.  There will be a focus on strategies as an idividual as well as how to address the issue for staff.  The second half of the talk is all aobut... fun!  More specifically, about using humor and fun as a leadership tool and a competitive advantage.  Hospital Managers spend far too much time searching for new staff or dealing with personnel issues and we know that 60% of millennial employees are leaving their jobs in the first 3 years specifically because they don't like the culture.  This is a high energy, funny, and engaging talk where you'll learn why humor works and more importantly HOW to put it to work in order to create a culture of fun at your hospital!

Conflict Resolution.  What a timely topic.  This is a mojor issue in many businesses today, not just veterinary practices.  Does this make you feel better?  You are not alone.  The answer for solving conflict problems is not to pass it off to the HR Department and hope that it gets handled.  That is what is being done in many large businesses and it isn't working.  What does work?  In the time we have together we are going to explore some tactics and tools that I have studied and put in place in businesses that I have worked with over the past 30 plus years.  We will be working on some exercises and honing some of our communication skills so that when you leave our time together, you will be able to deal with conflict while it is still an anthill vs waiting until it becomes a volcano ready to erupt.
